Spring Seed Wine Co.
"Organic farming is based on minimising the use of external inputs, avoiding the use of synthetic fertilisers and pesticides. Our organic philosophy also entails a step back in time to viticultural processes that were used in McLaren Vale in the days before the advent of synthetic chemicals. Dictated by the seasons, we manage our vineyards traditionally to help minimise our impact on the soils and environment, and grow the very best quality grapes we can."
Spring Seed Wines are made from grapes lovingly grown in the Bosworth family’s organic vineyards, located in the premium wine region of McLaren Vale, South Australia. The vineyards were established in the early 1970s by Peter and Anthea Bosworth, and are now owned and run by their son Joch and partner Louise Hemsley-Smith, who began the conversion to organic viticulture in 1995.
Spring Seed Wines are single vineyard wines that best express the unique characteristics of their foothills site, in a fresh, balanced style. Traditional vinification and natural minimal processing, combined with organic viticulture helps capture the purity, integrity and flavor of the vineyard. The labels are inspired by vintage flower seed packets created at the turn of the century, with three different flower images adorning each of the wines, with cases are split evenly with the varying labels. The old-fashioned look of the seed packets, and the painstaking attention to detail involved in the creation of the original artwork resonates in the traditional, meticulous practices Spring Seed employs in both vineyard and winemaking.
